Tiziana Marino, Campania
The Estate
The estates is located few hundred meters from Montevetrano on a clayous, sandy soil very rich in organic substances. This soil is about 2 meters deep and lays on huge layers (about 20 meters deep) of limestones pebbles which lean of the calcaire bedrock.
Philosophy
All the vineyards are conducted following the biodynamic approach. Fermentation in stainless steel with native yeasts and ageing in tonneaux for about 1 year. Tiziana wants to work on a lesser concentarted version of Aglianico, as she would like to highlight the shades and middletones rather than the strenght of this phenomenal grape variety.
The People
Tiziana Marino and her family have been always involved in agricolture; they have grown for generations grapes, apricots, pears, peaches, plums, nuts and farm animals such as rabbits and poultry.
In 2002 she decided to stop selling her grapes to the neighbouring growers and to start bottling her crop, taking advantage of beautifully conducted 40 years old vineyards of Aglianico
