The Estate

Only 6.50 hectares (about 25 acres) planted in the northern area of Colli Orientali del Friuli Doc, in Savorgnano del Torre. This is one of the grand cru of Friuli; the soil is made of layers of sandstones, limestones, clay and marls of eocenic origin (between 34 and 55 millions years ago). This area is definitely cooler than the rest of the appellation, thus giving rise to slightly less alcoholic wines and a just a bit more acidic.
The grapes are Tocai, Refosco, Merlot, Picolit and Verduzzo . The Tocai vineyard has been planted in the 50's.

Philosophy

the sole thing that makes a wine different is the place; a good vigneron must enhance in his wines the peculiarity of his place.

The People

Gianni Delfabbro and his family have been always grown vines, but only in the last years they decided to bottle their crop.
