Santa Maria, Toscana
Santa Maria is located just outside the eastern wall of the village of Montalcino wherein historically stood the antique defensive bulwark of the Senese republic and has a splendid view of the valley D'Orcia, Val d'Arbia, Le Crete, and Siena itself.
A wine must reflects in its aromas the unicity of its place of origin. Sheer respect for the environment, organic farming, native yeasts and banning of any synthetized chemical compounds in the vinyeards and in the cellar is mandatory to bring in the glass the flavours of the place. ORGANIC FARMING
Marino Colleoni, former IT man, has always dreamt to own a vineyard in Montalcino. Fifteen years ago he bought a plot of land in the area and discovered neglected vines which had formerly been registered in the Brunello zone. It happened in 1998, and two years later Marino made his first wine. A hectare and a half of vineyards organically farmed.
