Masseria Frattasi, Campania
Founded back in 1770 it has been brought to new life by
Pasquale Clemente, the current owner. During the groundbreaking for the restoration of the ancient building, it has been discovered a wonderful samnitic necropolis, whose finds are now exhibited at the Archeologic Museum of Montesarchio. 10 Ha of old vineyards.
The vineyards are 70% Falanghina and 30% Aglianico, plus 1 ha of Fiano, 0.50 ha of Greco and 0.50 ha of Coda di Volpe. All the vineyards are planted at about 300 meters on volcanic soils with significative presence of limestone. Most of the vineyards are about thirty years old.
A good wine must express the unicity given by the combination of grapes, soil and climate; to make this possible the focus has to be on the vineyards.
Pasquale Clemente is a journalist with a great passion for his land of which he is a tireless supporter; wine is just another way of promoting this wonderful and unknown angle of inner Campania
